Your first serial

Every unit you produce gets a serial number and its own page. This is where you see what the unit is made of and what has happened to it.

Use either of these:

  • In Build Orders, select the order, open the Units tab and select the unit.
  • In Inventory, open the serials list and select the serial number.

A unit that passed its final test, or had none, starts as AVAILABLE. A unit that failed its final test is quarantined.

The header shows the serial number, its status and its part and revision.

  • Timeline. The timeline lists every event in the unit’s life, oldest first: produced, moved, reserved, inspected, shipped, and so on. See Serials.
  • As-Built Genealogy. The tree of components and lots that went into the unit, exactly as built. This record never changes after the unit is produced. It also shows the work instructions the unit was built to and the change orders that were applied or skipped.
  • Final test. If the revision had a test plan, a table lists each check, the result, its limits and whether it was in spec. If the unit failed, the page says so. If the revision had no plan, the page says that no final test was defined.
  • Firmware and attachments for the unit.

Select Export SBOM in the header to open the unit’s software bill of materials. The button needs the reports:read permission, and it does not appear without it. See SBOM export.
